1981: Congress 1st established _Women’s History Week__(for 1982).

1987: Congress 1st established Women’s History Month

Since 1995: Every President issued annual proclamations designating March Women’s History Month

Did You Know?: March is also Irish-American Heritage Month

  • In 1991, Congress first proclaimed March as Irish-American Heritage Month
  • 32 million+ Americans claim Irish ancestry, including 1:5 Massachusetts residents
  • World’s 1st St. Patrick’s Day parade took place in 1762 in NYC

P.S. President Trump also declared March "American Red Cross Month" – It's a busy Spring.
