Study Details

  • Nearly 2,500 participants – ate a little more than 3 servings of pasta a week.
  • Serving Size: 1/2 cup.
  • Pasta replaced other carbs.
  • Pasta part of a broader low glycemic (low-GI) diet (i.e. no bread).

But…Why Did Pasta Lead To Weight Loss?

Researchers aren’t 100% sure…but say : “lower-GI foods have been shown to be more satiating and delay hunger and decrease subsequent energy intake.

Translation? A little pasta may have made eaters feel fuller, longer.
