Born on Oct 11, 1884, Eleanor lost both of her parents by age 10. At 21, she married her fifth cousin, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Among her many First Lady firsts, she was the first to hold her own White House press conferences and the first to race down an Olympic bobsled course.
