Pres. Trump Last- Minute Cancels Signing of Bipartisan Housing Act

“…hereby cancelled until such time as we pass the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT…”

Pres. Donald Trump canceling the planned signing ceremony for the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, pressing for Congress to advance the SAVE America Act, an election bill that passed the House in April, first.

The housing bill passed Congress with broad bipartisan support and includes measures aimed at increasing housing supply and affordability. Under the Constitution, the President generally has 10 days, excluding Sundays, to sign or veto a bill after it reaches his desk, meaning the measure could still become law — either by his signature or, if Congress remains in session, without it.

Congressional leaders from both parties responded to the delayed signing, with some urging Pres. Trump to sign the legislation and others expressing confidence he will do so within the constitutional deadline.
