_Chess Champion QTD

"I say to myself that I never lose, that I only learn."

Adewumi, 10, is this year’s National Chess Master – an award giving to less than 1% of players. He learned chess while living in a New York City homeless shelter after his family fled religious persecution in Nigeria. Through GoFundMe donations and hard work, his family moved out of the shelter. A foundation, started in his name, helps waive the fees for chess programs and tournaments for children in need, just as his chess teacher once did for him.
