Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.
Adidas in a statement announcing their split from rapper Ye – formerly known as Kanye West – following his recent antisemitic remarks.
Why It Matters: Following recent “offensive and antisemitic remarks,” Ye – a fashion designer and award-winning rapper – was dropped from a partnership with Adidas, a German company that is the second largest sportswear manufacturer in the world. His talent company and reportedly the Balenciaga fashion house both recently ended ties with him as well.
Ye was suspended from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook earlier this month following antisemitic posts that violated social media policies. He has since offered to buy Parler, a conservative social network.
