Afghanistan update

Right now the war is getting much hotter.

Maj. Yama Andaleb, Afghanistan Air Force. The Taliban continue their attacks nationwide.

• Afghanistan and U.S. forces use airstrikes to counter the Taliban’s advances that include threatening to take over major cities.
• Reliable information from these rural areas is a challenge. Reports include residents trapped in their homes, fearful to leave and innocent people targeted by the Taliban, and/or accidentally harmed in the air strikes.
• Meanwhile, the Taliban also attacked the home of the Def. Minister in Kabul, the capital of the nation.

Why It Matters: As the U.S. draws down its forces in Afghanistan after America’s longest war, the Taliban have made considerable territorial gains.

Airstrikes pummel Taliban positions in southern Afghanistan
