“I truly believe that God puts people in situations that help us build character.”
Neil Handler’s son Jonah is one of only three survivors of one of the deadliest building collapses in American history, which occurred exactly one year ago today. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation; families of those impacted recently negotiated a tentative settlement for $1B. Jonah fell 10 stories into a pocket of rubble, miraculously surviving with compression fractures in his back. Handler says of his child, “I don’t think it was luck. I really believe he’s a miracle. I believe he was chosen for something.”
