AT&T Faces Data Leak Involving Millions Of Customers

Based on our preliminary analysis, the data set appears to be from 2019 or earlier, impacting approximately 7.6 million current AT&T account holders and approximately 65.4 million former account holders.

AT&T in a statement on Saturday. The company reset millions of customer account passwords after the company faced a massive data leak earlier in March.

Why It Matters: AT&T has publicly acknowledged the data leak impacting current and former accounts. The leaked information appeared on the dark web and includes customer names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, and Social Security numbers. AT&T said they are notifying impacted customers and will pay for credit monitoring in necessary circumstances.
