British Ultrarunner Makes History

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Barkley, it’s that you never know what you are capable of until you try.

British ultrarunner, veterinarian and mother, Jasmin Paris.

Why It Matters: On Friday, Paris became the first woman ever to complete the Barkley Marathons – a high-intensity endurance race in which participants travel 100 miles over rugged Tennessee terrain on foot in less than 60 hours. Paris, 40, is the 20th person to ever complete the race since it became a 100-mile race in 1989 (the dropout rate of the race is 99%).
