College students create platform for Ukrainian refugees to find people to help them.

19-year-old Avi Schiffman on creating a digital platform to help link Ukrainian refugees with people who want to help house them.
  • Moved by the plight of refugees from Ukraine, two Harvard University freshmen — Marco Burstein, 18, of Los Angeles, and Avi Schiffman, 19, of Seattle — built a digital platform called UkraineTakeShelter.com.
  • The goal? To link families in need with people willing to help provide them a home.
  • Why It Matters: The UN says there are more than 4 million Ukrainian refugees, and that number continues to grow. You can see the latest data here.
