Zach Bryan Among Many Celebrity Veterans

I always wrote songs being in the Navy, I would come home … off a shift and I would just play the songs … and for them to turn into something is more than I could ever ask for.
Country music singer-songwriter and Navy veteran Zach Bryan (27). Bryan joined the Navy at age 17 inspired by the military service of his family.

While still “active duty military … he signed his first recording contract,” and after eight years of service, he was honorably discharged to pursue his music career (Military.com). Of his time in the Navy, he said the “most rewarding thing” was “the people.”

Bryan has released eight albums, and in 2023, he won the Academy of Country Music Award for New Male Artist of the Year. He is among a group of many veteran celebrities, including Betty White, Elvis and Drew Carey.
