• An advisory panel will meet on Friday to discuss specifically Pfizer’s application for a third or “booster” dose of the vaccine.
• Dr. Gottlieb (also on the board of Pfizer) says he believes the boosters will likely be prioritized for those older and more at risk for severe implications from COVID-19.

Why It Matters: Questions about vaccine efficacy remain as the United States nears a year since the first dose was administered to the public but infections continue to rise nationwide.
