“Deep Cyclone” Leads To Deaths, Power Outages on East Coast

Mayor James Belford Damiano of Little Falls, New Jersey announcing an evacuation. A storm system brought heavy rain and winds up and down the East Coast this weekend into Monday; authorities warn of continued flooding.

Why It Matters: The rainy, stormy weather led to several deaths across the East Coast, more than 600,000 people without power, hundreds of flight cancelled and thousands delayed. While the rain has subsided, flooding remains a major issue with rivers expected to crest Tuesday – Wednesday.
