"Peace is possible; peace is a duty; peace is everyone’s primary responsibility!"

Pope Francis speaking during his traditional “Urbi et Orbi” Easter message to a crowd gathered in the square outside St. Peter’s Basilica — the first gathering of its kind since 2019, before the pandemic. Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church, typically uses the annual Easter address to identify humanitarian issues and conflicts. This Easter, the pope mentioned several — including Yemen, the Congo, South Africa, clashes between Israelis and Palestinians, and Ukraine — sharing: “In this terrible night of suffering and death, may a new dawn of hope soon appear!”
