My view is, now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation, or perhaps both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land.

Former President Donald Trump in a video on his Truth Social media platform, going against notions that he would consider embracing a national abortion ban.

Why It Matters: Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade in 2022, Former President Trump hinted at supporting a nationwide abortion ban around the 15- or 16-week threshold of pregnancy. However, in a new video shared on Monday, he emphasized his position that abortion should be left to each state to decide. The news comes as President Trump continues to win Republican primary races, positioning him as the presumptive GOP nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
