The passage of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill has set the stage for the next golden age as we prepare to celebrate the 250th year of our great nation.

Sec. of Treasury Scott Bessent on passage of a major bill he says will “cement a blue-collar boom and improves the lives of Americans on every rung of the economic ladder.”

Why It Matters: This massive package sets the table for President Trump’s agenda, approximately 6-months after he took office; we do not have word on when the President will sign the legislation into law. Democrats deride this bill for what they say are policies that favor the rich, strips access to important programs like Medicaid, and lacks focus on increasing everyday affordability for Americans. Republicans say the bill secures a previous tax cut passed by Pres. Trump in his first term in office, prevents waste and fraud in Medicaid, provides more resources for the U.S. Borders, and codifies popular bipartisan efforts like “no tax on tips.”

Supporters of Pres. Trump have criticized the increased spending in the bill, including Elon Musk; the administration has pushed back on spending estimates as mistakes in forecasting.

Two Republicans chose not to vote for the bill, passed along party lines: Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania.
