IDF spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, on Israel Defense Forces pushing into Gaza as Israel’s war against Hamas moves to include ground forces in addition to airstrikes.
Why It Matters: The movement of tanks and ground troops signifies an escalation in the conflict. Also Monday, rockets from Hamas continue to fire into Israel, despite the airstrikes in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, more humanitarian aid trucks have entered Gaza in the last 24 hours. The White House says Hamas has prevented U.S. citizens from leaving.
