June Border Numbers Continue to Show Decline of Encounters

…  we are protecting this country with relentless focus, and the numbers prove it.

CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott on the latest monthly report on the U.S. borders.

Why It Matters: The latest number of encounters in June reflects the lowest total number of encounters in modern data collection: 25,228. For comparison, last June the government reported just under 205,000 encounters.

Of note – While the numbers at the U.S. southwest border declined month-to-month, the number of encounters on the northern border increased slightly.
