We are seeking God’s direction for a resolution, and authorities are seeking ways to help.

The non-profit Christian Aid Ministries issuing a statement on 17 people associated with its organization who were kidnapped in Haiti.
  • The Ohio-based group has a history of working in the Caribbean.
  • 16 Americans, one Canadian have been abducted (among the 17, five reportedly are children).
  • Reports: a gang called "400 Mawozo" is responsible. The group has an increasing pattern of abductions for ransom.
  • Why It Matters: An example of the lawlessness that continues in the country ravaged by poverty, natural disasters, and continued political upheaval since the assassination of the Haitian president in July. As gangs have grown in power, questions linger about what might bring stability to the island nation.
