More than $8.5 Million Raised for NFL Player Damar Hamlin’s Charity

What (Damar Hamlin) did was remind us that this is who we are mostly. We are people, who care about one another – even those we don’t know.

ESPN Anchor Scott Van Pelt during his “One Big Thing” segment, talking about NFL player Damar Hamlin, 24, and how what happened to him impacted our entire country.

One week ago today, Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during a Monday night football game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He has since been recovering at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Hamlin’s team, New York's Buffalo Bills, returned to the field on Sunday and won against the New England Patriots; Hamlin was posting on social media during the game. Plus ~ In the week since Hamlin’s injury, more than $8.5 million has been raised for his charity which gives back to children through initiatives including toy drives and kid camps!
