Wen Fan, one of the main researchers of a new study exploring the impact of a four-day work week.
Why It Matters: The largest trial to ever study the shortened work week found that working four days a week, with no pay cuts, improved employees’ overall wellbeing and job satisfaction. Nearly 3,000 workers from 141 organizations around the world worked 32 hours a week for six months. When compared to the control group of employees working five days a week, results indicate a work week shortened by eight hours helps workers feel happier and more effective.
