Sec. Kennedy Removes All Members of Vaccine Advisory Committee
A clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., announcing the “retiring” of 17 doctors who serve on the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP), which provides guidance on the use of vaccines for the American public. Sec. Kennedy described the committee as a “rubber stamp for any vaccine” with “persistent conflicts of interest” and says the new members will “foster a culture of critical inquiry.”
Wiping out an entire panel of vaccine experts doesnโt build trust โ it shatters it, and worse, it sends a chilling message: that ideology matters more than evidence, and politics more than public health.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Sec. Kennedy’s “retiring” of members on the ACIP (Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices). Sec. Kennedy will have authority to name new members of the committee, and the committee is set to meet June 25. Appointees typically serve for four years.
