Stephanie Bernstein, a Maryland resident whose husband, Michael Bernstein, was one of the victims in the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 plane crash. The U.S. has taken into custody the Libyan intelligence officer who allegedly built the explosive device used that day.

Why It Matters: The Justice Department confirmed on Sunday Abu Agela Mas’ud Kheir al-Marimi is in custody will face criminal charges in the U.S. He allegedly built the explosive device in the 1988 flight over Lockerbie, Scotland that killed 270 people, including 190 Americans. It is the “deadliest terrorist attack in the history of the United Kingdom, and second only to Sept. 11, 2001, for Americans,” The Washington Post reports.
