We do not want to see a wider regional conflict.
Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh during a Pentagon press briefing that provided an update on attacks against U.S. forces in Syria and Iraq, as well as confirming Iranian-backed forces shot-down a $30+ million U.S. military drone in international air space.
The Pentagon provided these specifics: Since October 17th – Nov 14th: 55 attacks against U.S. forces; 27 attacks in Iraq and 28 attacks in Syria. The Pentagon says they continue to track 59 U.S. personnel for injuries, including “TBI” (traumatic brain injury) and “non-serious” injuries – all 59 have returned to duty.
Why It Matters: The number of attacks against U.S. forces by Iranian-backed groups continues to climb in the aftermath of an attack by an Iranian-backed terrorist organization, Hamas, on Israel, a key U.S. ally.
The Pentagon defends counter-strikes as deterrence that continues to keep the conflict in Gaza from “spilling” over.
The Pentagon also shared an intelligence assessment that Hamas continues to use hospitals in Gaza as cover for their operations.
The U.S. attacked a weapons depot and “safe house” for these Iranian-backed groups this weekend: Here’s a quick write-up.
