" … no death is just a statistic.”

Artist Suzanne Brennan Firstenburg created a COVID-19 memorial called: “In America: Remember.” The art installation features more than 660,000 white flags representing lost loved ones to the pandemic – some with personalized written messages or tributes. Firstenburg says her 25-year experience volunteering in hospice care inspired her current work. The art installation provides a unique visual representation of loss as America nears 700,000 deaths, already the deadliest pandemic in U.S. history.
