Patterson describing what she would say to the 18-year-old gunman who shot and killed her husband, Heyward Patterson, as he helped someone load groceries into their car in Buffalo, New York. In total, 10 people were murdered in the attack; their ages ranged from 32 to 86. The victims include a retired police officer, a leader of a community food pantry, and a breast cancer survivor.
