On Saturday, Richard Fierro (45) was in Club Q – an LGBTQ nightclub – with his wife, daughter, daughter’s boyfriend and friends in Colorado Springs, CO. They were watching his daughter’s friend’s drag show when a gunman entered the club and began shooting. Fierro, who served in the Army for 15 years and went on four combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, took the shooter’s gun away and helped to subdue him until police arrived.
Five people, including Fierro’s daughter’s boyfriend, were killed in the shooting; more than 15 were injured (incl. his wife and daughter). The names of those who were killed are listed on our source page.
