The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in a statement on Wednesday announcing the recall of raw ground beef products sold at Walmart retail stores across the country.

What To Know: Cargill Meat Solutions produced the potentially contaminated raw ground beef products on April 26 and April 27. There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses related to the beef as of Wednesday; however, the recall occurredout of an abundance of caution due to the possibility of E. coli contamination, according to a Cargill Meat Solutions spokesperson.

Potentially contaminated beef products were distributed to Walmarts located in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC. View the list of recalled products here.

Worth Noting: “FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase” (FSIS).
