Russia reaching out for help

” … we do have indications that Russia has approached North Korea to request ammunition.”

Pentagon Press Sec. Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder during a press briefing discussing newly declassified information that Russia has turned to North Korea for help in the invasion into Ukraine.

Why It Matters: The Pentagon says Russia has reached out to both North Korea and Iran for support – both known adversaries of America and designated state sponsors of terror by the United States State Department for supporting terrorist groups around the world.

  • North Korea has nuclear weapons (as does Russia).
  • The U.S. argues this (needing outside help to fuel the war) reflects weakness in the Russian strategy. Whether or not that is the case is TBD.
  • The Russian invasion of Ukraine has now continued more than 6 months.
