SpaceX Satellites

What in the world? What is that?

Friend of SmartHER News, Brooke Brown, after witnessing the mysterious line of lights Sunday night in Colorado – the effects of SpaceX’s “Starlink.”

The Big Picture: A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 54 new Starlink satellites into orbit on late Saturday night from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The result? A visible line of lights in the sky! Space.com explains, "These batch of Starlink satellites stands out from the thousands SpaceX has launched to date as it is the final set of Starlink Version 1.5 satellites the company will launch."

The purpose of these satellites is "the world's first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit" (SpaceX) – providing internet access, especially at a low cost in rural areas.

Important to Note: As of July 2023, 4,000+ Starling satellites are in orbit. This marks SpaceX's 247th mission.
