"Sometimes a little luck and timing helps."
On Saturday, legendary surfer Kelly Slater won his 56th career title and eighth Pipe Masters victory in Hawaii on one of the world’s most famous waves – the Banzai Pipeline. Slater started surfing at age five, and turns 50 tomorrow. 30 years ago, Slater won the Pipe Masters competition becoming the youngest world champion in men’s surfing history; he became the oldest in 2011. Of Saturday’s victory, he said: “… this is the best win of my life.”
