We are all shocked and devastated by the loss of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Grassia, and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Frankoski, while serving along the U.S. border in Texas. … Our deepest condolences also go out to the family and friends of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent who was also killed.

Why It Matters: Three Americans serving at the U.S. southern border died in a helicopter crash on Friday during a “border security mission” – we currently do not have details as to what caused the crash. As of Sunday, one National Guardsman injured seriously in the crash remained hospitalized.
