"I saw that by overcoming my obstacles, I could build indestructible happiness and inspire others to do the same."

12-time Grammy winner Tina Turner passed away at age 83. Born Anna Mae Bullock in the segregated South, she took on the name "Tina Turner" after her marriage to Ike Turner. While they both gained notoriety together as performers, behind the scenes Tina described years of horrific domestic abuse. Eventually she divorced Ike and charted her own path as a performer that included selling more than 150 million records worldwide, 12 Grammy's and honors at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Kennedy Center.
