Vivek Ramaswamy: Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio to parents who immigrated from India, Ramaswamy went on to study biology at Harvard and receive his J.D. from Yale Law School. Ramaswamy, 37, is a biotech entrepreneur, investor, and author of two books. He lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and two young children.
Why It Matters: Ramaswamy is the third major candidate to put his name in the running for the 2024 GOP presidential race. He announced his candidacy on Fox News on Tuesday evening, as well as in a video and op-ed in The Wall Street Journal. The GOP field is expected to grow in the coming weeks.
