Consumers should not eat or serve certain lots of Great Value raw frozen shrimp sold at Walmart stores in AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MO, MS, OH, OK, PA, TX, and WV.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration in a news release on Tuesday recalling certain frozen shrimp sold at Walmart after some containers at four U.S. ports from Indonesia tested positive for a radioactive isotope called Cesium-137.

Why It Matters: The nation’s largest retailer recalled certain Great Value brand frozen raw shrimps. The FDA has not found any contaminated shrimp on market shelves but warns customers to throw away potentially impacted products.

Cesium-137 contains low-level radiation and could cause health impacts with consistent exposure. An investigation remains ongoing.
