White House Christmas Ornament 2021

Our mission is at once the oldest and the most basic of this country: to right wrong, to do justice, to serve man.

President Lyndon B. Johnson, quoted on the Official 2021 White House Christmas Ornament.
  • This year's official White House ornament honors President Lyndon B. Johnson. On one side, the decoration displays a painting of the Johnson family's 1967 Christmas tree that stood in the Blue Room of the White House; the other side of the ornament features a quote from President Johnson's "We Shall Overcome" speech.
  • President Johnson's younger daughter, Luci Baines Johnson, told The Associated Press that the holidays are for "remembering the people you love" and that it's an "extraordinary gift" for the White House Historical Association to honor her family with this year's official ornament.

Why It Matters: For 41 years, the White House Historical Association – a nonprofit that was established by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy – has honored either a significant White House anniversary or a U.S. president with unique Christmas ornaments. The ornaments are made in the U.S. and manufactured by ChemArt, a veteran-owned company; all sales help support the Association's mission "to protect, preserve, and provide public access to the rich history of America's Executive Mansion."
