No parent should have to wonder if a toy will stop their child from breathing. Protect your children and buy only from reputable sellers.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Acting Chairman Peter A. Feldman warning American parents about the dangers of fake labubu dolls.

Why It Matters: Labubu dolls – the trendy collectibles made by Chinese company Pop Mart – exploded in popularity this year, pushing the company’s profits up 350% in the first half of 2025, according to the AP. But the surge in demand also fueled counterfeit versions that come with serious safety risks. The fake dolls, commonly referred to as “Lafufus,” can break apart easily, creating choking hazards for children and collectors alike.

How Big is the Problem? U.S. border agents near San Francisco recently seized 7,200 counterfeit Labubu dolls along with 100 fake Apple AirPods – valued at over $360,000.
