Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on the latest hostage exchange that reportedly included the return of the bodies of an Israeli mother and her two young sons taken by Hamas during the October 7th terrorist attack; the IDF says the adult body was not the mother.
Why This Matters: With this latest development, concerns rise about whether the ceasefire deal between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas will hold, and what lies ahead.
The IDF continued: “Ariel and Kfir Bibas were murdered by terrorists in cold blood. The terrorists did not shoot the two young boys—they killed them with their bare hands. Afterwards, they committed horrific acts to cover up these atrocities.”
Hamas released this statement — reported to ABC News: “To the families of Bibas and Lifshitz: We would have preferred your sons to return to you alive, but your army and government leaders chose to kill them instead of bringing them back. They killed with them: 17,881 Palestinian children, in their criminal bombardment of the Gaza Strip, and we know that you know who is truly responsible for their departure. You were the victim of a leadership that does not care about its children.”
